Looking to the future (a 2024 wrap up)

Hi I’m Priscilla!

Owner / Videographer / Photographer / & Drone Pilot

As I close up 2024 it felt right to update my clients with a mini “newsletter” if you will and introduce/ reintroduce myself to anyone who happens across my website in the process and share what’s happening.

I’m very much in the middle of a rebrand and restructuring (though rest assured to all who have worked with me I will still be continuing my services).

Do you feel the need for a rebrand too?

See I finally took my own advice and got some headshots and branding images (and I will for sure be getting more in 2025 as I evolve and grow). It’s a little uncomfortable to be the face of your brand but if you are a small business or personal brand - tag you’re it! We have to show up and stop playing small.

I’ve been a professional videographer and photographer since 2017. I earned my associates degree in Digital Media Technology that same year. When I think back to 2015 me and how little she knew about all things video and photo - I cringe a little - but I’m also really proud of the lessons learned and skills gained along the way. In a way 2025 is my decadaversary - now I’m just making up words! - since choosing to invest in this path. Honestly I love it. I love telling stories through video and making people comfortable in an interview - look at me not the camera and we will get through this and get your story into the world.

Much of the way I’ve approached things to this point has been very client and branding centered (and hey my clients are important to me!) and as their needs evolved so did I. When people found out I did video it became “Hey can you take a few pictures too?” and “Sure.” I immediately died of embarassment when I pulled them up on my computer screen because it turns out photo is a different skill but hey they weren’t paying me yet. Not to mention photo editing is different from video editing. Many thanks for those who let me practice and improve my skills. Now both photo and video are skills I can confidently execute on - but we all have to start somewhere. If you’re growing a skillset or business my encouragement is keep at it and you will get there.

In 2024 I finally stopped doing this on the side and committed to full time, got an LLC, accounting, legal, etc. including a branding shoot. Hey, I mean what I say when I say it’s time to stop playing small for you and me.

In photos for 2024 I shot family portraits, headshots, personal branding, events, real estate, & Airbnbs.

In video for 2024 I shot two videos for a non profit including and about (basically a mini documentary) and a shorter version for social media.

I also launched a podcast on women’s health - which I am extremely passionate about advocating for - that had to be paused as I focused on my own health (ironic much?), moving, and making sure clients needs and deadlines were met.

Perhaps most beautiful of all this year has been the opportunity to assess what I am truly most passionate about. I was able to do this through a variety of ways ( the non profit video / a horse photography workshop in July / and two 48hr film projects). It’s something I was truly over due for. I’m really close to having my business be that thing as everything I shot in 2024 was a great fit (thank you again to my amazing clients!) and areas I will continue to serve in.

Personally I want to do more video. I want to tell more non profit, company, and individual stories. I want to interview more people. I also want to do several photo projects just for myself as well as some writing to go with them. Stories and art are what move me. I want to work with larger creative teams. I want to go out at sunset with my camera and take photos and video of a woman galloping on horseback. I want clients that come with an epic vision or want me to help them create one together.

I need to get clearer on my messaging and who I want to serve more of. It’s time for a tweak in direction. While it’s not finalized yet I sense that I want to serve clients that are business owners and non profits who serve through women’s wellness, agriculture, and advocacy. I am happy to sit in the heavy and craft a piece of work that shows the impact an organization does. I also want to celebrate wins and bring joy as well through shoots that feel empowering for the people involved. If you know of anyone in need of a rebrand or telling their story in 2025 I’d appreciate a connection. I am also going to be feeling out how to serve these clients the best (I’ve noticed sometimes they need a new logo and website as well) so am looking for other business owners to partner with or refer to for an all in one facelift for clients.

In closing:

  1. If you’re a current client or have worked with me in the past you are welcome to reach out at any time.

  2. If we haven’t worked together yet and want to talk about what working together might look like in 2025 I would love to schedule a time to chat via my calendar.

Thank you for being here!
